JCPD seeking assistance to ID burglary suspect

The Junction City Police Department is seeking the Public's assistance in identifying and arresting at least one man (seen in the attached photo) suspected in a recent series of aggravated burglaries that have been occurring in the city over the last month.

In several of the cases, the suspect has entered homes through unsecured doors or in one case through a 'doggy door' and removed items from the home as the residents slept.

In other cases, an attempt has been made to enter the home while the residents slept inside but the suspect was frightened off by alarm systems activated in the homes. The suspect in one case attempted to pry the front door open and fled when the alarm was activated, and in another case was frightened off by a resident who saw the man in the backyard of their in the home in the early morning hours with a flashlight.

The man in the attached photo is a male of unknown race wearing a baseball cap, wearing a light colored shirt and pants and is wearing gloves. He appears to have a several day growth of facial hair, and has with him a flashlight.

Police are very concerned about the activities of this man and his method of operation of entering occupied homes in the middle of the night.

Citizens are urged to secure all their home's doors and windows, and are asked to call 911 if any suspicious activity is observed in their neighborhood. Persons calling should give as complete a description as possible of the activity to guide police to the scene, and to remember to be a 'good witness'. Make no attempt to apprehend the man or to alert them they have been observed but call police as soon as possible.
